THE AMES BROTHERS
Sights and Sounds
"Smooth like the Ames Brothers......."
            Debbie Reynolds
Listen to the boys have some fun with Ragmop,
one of their biggest hits from 1950.
Them Bones from 1952, you know,"the knee bone's connected to
the shin bone....can you pick out that rich base voice? That's big
Brother Joe.
Hawaiian War Chant from 1951 shows just how talented the
boys were. Give a listen to the "war chant" they had to learn. I
know of only one other person today, who can sing it all the way
through
Gotta Be This or That from 1955 is
one of my favorite toe tapping songs,
with Hugo Winterhalter and his orchestra.
Who Built the Ark? (Noah, Noah)
from 1951 showcases Ed's lead vocal in
this one and oh how he can swing.
No Moon At All from their Destination
Moon LP 1958 arranged by Sid Ramin and
his orchestra, vocal arrangement by Al
Semola.
I keep saying, "Smooth like the Ames Brothers, but to hear them sing is like hot fudge being
poured over a mound of vanilla ice cream. They melt away the cold and are oh so sweet.

Four voices joined together in the warmth of their one of a kind sound.
These two songs are from the movies.  Tammy is from Tammy and the Bachelor,
1957, which starred Debbie Reynolds and Leslie Nielsen. And Moonglow, is from
Picnic, 1955, which starred William Holden and Kim Novak.
