ED AMES SINGS ED AMES
"Acting is a representation of life, " Mr. Ames is
quoted as saying.  "So is singing and I approach a
song as I would a short, dramatic scene."
That is probably my favorite Ed Ames quote, because it is so true.  In any song that he sings, no matter the genre,
whatever emotion he wants you, as the listener to feel, you will feel. You don't have to see him,  you can hear it in his
voice.  It's that Ed Ames magic at work.

These two songs are two of his biggest hits, "Try To Remember" from the Broadway show, The Fantastiks, and "My Cup
Runneth Over" from another Broadway show, I Do, I Do.

Mr. Ames was nominated for a Grammy in 1967-68 for "My Cup Runneth Over. for Best Album, Record of the Year,
and Male Vocal Performance "

My Cup Runneth Over
Mr. Ames and I believe, his daughter,
Sonia, and Folly, the collie

This is my very favorite picture of Mr. Ames
and I hope he doesn't mind, but as my Grandma Chandler would say,
"He was a tall drink of water."
and that, Mr. Ames, is a good thing.
Enjoy just a little listen of these two
wonderful songs. .
I can't imagine the countless hours Ed Ames spent in the
recording studio and doing live concerts. I can only thank
him for sharing his voice, his music with all of us who are
admirers of his talent.  Click here to see and hear
